Coffee Beans

What Coffee Do We Use?

After extensive coffee cuppings, we selected Colombian 100% Arabica from various regions around the world for our products.

This selection is rooted in Colombia's rich coffee-growing tradition, known for its exceptional quality and delightful flavor, featuring a smooth start and a more intense aftertaste. Additionally, we chose organic (BIO) quality, reflecting our commitment to nature and the perfect synergy with the power of herbs derived from it.

The final and perhaps most important criterion for choosing Colombian coffee was its exceptional taste, even when combined with our herbal blends. Among the selected coffees, Colombia stood out significantly in our final test.

Everything is designed to ensure that enjoying Healtern selection coffee provides you with a unique experience.

Colombian Coffee History

Coffee beans were introduced to Colombia in the early 18th century, likely by Jesuit priests accompanying Portuguese settlers. Initially cultivated in the northeastern region, local farmers later expanded coffee production throughout the country. Today, thanks to its favorable climate and high humidity, Colombia ranks as the third-largest coffee producer globally, annually yielding over 800,000 tons of green coffee beans.

Taste

The manual harvesting and washing process enhance the coffee's natural qualities, resulting in a sweet flavor reminiscent of vanilla, caramel, or cookies.

Notes of juicy fruit and red apple are present, with some detecting hints of chocolate. The coffee has minimal acidity.

It has a moderate intensity upon first contact with the taste receptors, which then intensifies. The coffee leaves a pleasant, lasting flavor in the mouth."

Roasting

We use a medium-dark roast for all Healtern coffees, allowing the fruity and caramel notes in the flavor profile to shine while maintaining the beloved coffee bitterness. This balance of acidity, sweetness, and bitterness creates an exceptional taste.

We primarily recommend preparing Healtern coffee using alternative methods, though we also enjoy making it as espresso. While darker (Italian) roasts are typically preferred for espresso, the newer wave of specialty coffees has brought changes in roasting practices.

Preparing Healtern coffee in an espresso machine may result in slightly increased acidity and enhanced fruit tones compared to alternative brewing methods.
